    405 x 1

    Assistance work:

    Deadlift (BBB [50% of working 1RM])

    255 x 10 x 5

    Hanging leg raises (bent knees, need to work on these):

    BW x 10 x 5

    Roller

    Went ok today, but squats felt heavier than they should have. Not exactly sure why, but am heading into a deload next, which will be good. That will be the end of month 1 of the Boring But Big 3 month challenge. Next month I’ll still be sticking to the exact number of reps for each working set, but upping the assistance work from 50% to 60% numbers. Yep.

    Almost had 10 on that last working set, 9 isn’t too bad though. End of my 5’s week & I felt it went ok. On to my 3’s

    Figured I’d just keep my assistance BBB squat at the 60% number and do a few extra sets. This is the end of my warm-up/deload that I wanted to get through after a month off. I’m still a bit congested, but will be heading into my 5’s week next. Looking forward to it.

    and that’s the end of my 20th cycle of 5/3/1. Like I said in a previous post, the current plan is to run through one more but during the 531 week of it I will be working to find out where I am for my 1RMs are on everything. After that, I’m considering getting the 5/3/1 for Powerlifting and switching over for a while. We will see.

    Pretty content with a new PR for the end of my 20th 5/3/1 week. Calc’s out to 498 - nice.  Next up is a bit of deload.

    I think at the end of my next 5/3/1 cycle I’m going to re-test my 1RM. It’s been a while since I’ve done so, and with all the set backs I’ve had this year I’m interested to see where I’m at. I may also get the ‘5/3/1 for Powerlifting’ Edition and switch to that afterwards, just to give it a shot.

    Everything felt great, funny how light 245 feels after 395. On to my 531 week. Also looking forward to seeing High on Fire this Thursday at the Galaxy. I started listening to them during my training, and they should be a good show.

    No assistance. I was done.

    Well it’s about time I started working towards PRs for myself again! It calcs to 493, barely beats previous *PR for reps by 2 lbs, but I’ll take it. Pretty content with this, must have been the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups I ate before training.
